Bucaneers at Saints(-8.5)

No regrets: A real "class act" here.

Bucs LaGarrette Blount has no regrets about sucker punch

Bucs RB LaGarrette Blount rose above notoriety he earned at Oregon last September. In an astonishing loss of composure after a Ducks loss at Boise State, Blount sucker punched a gloating Broncos player on the field and then, despite the best efforts of Oregon assistants and teammates to restrain him, engaged in a prolonged televised temper tantrum and even attempted to go after fans in the stands as he was dragged to the locker room. Blount was suspended for the season, a punishment Coach Chip Kelly lifted to allow Blount to play in the Rose Bowl. Blount carried that heavy baggage to training camp when he received an invitation from the Tennessee Titans, but once again lost his cool and got into a fight with a teammate on the practice field there that also drew heavy media attention. He subsequently missed the final Titans cut and was picked up by Tampa Bay. Since then he has excelled on the field, gaining 941 yards to lead the Buccaneers despite starting just six games. ?It took a long time, it seemed like it took forever to get here,? Blount said in a conference call. ?But I did everything that was asked of me by everybody that was an important part of my life. I continued to listen to coaches and to mentors that got me to where I was today.? Although Blount?s explosion at Boise State was the talk of the college football world, he argued it was blown out of proportion. It cost him in terms of the 2010 draft, he believes, but nevertheless he expressed no misgivings. ?No, I have no regrets at all, actually,? he said. ?Just continue to do everything right and hopefully I?ll continue to be successful.?
