  • say it aint so

Say goodbye to "Bob Vila" -- at least in its original run. CBS Television Distribution has pulled the plug on longtime home-improvement television show host Bob Vila and his eponymous weekly series, which has been averaging a 0.8 household rating this season, flat with last year.

or at least what Stern says their ratings are

actually it is documented, here is the quote and the link. I think it has actually even gone down since January. :slappy:

Meanwhile, “Free FM” WCKG-FM, also owned by CBS, continues to languish after the December 2005 departure of Howard Stern. Arbitron ranked the station 30th in the marketplace, with a 0.9% share. The morning team of Gregg “Opie” Hughes and Anthony Cumia also ranked 30th among men 25 to 54, while Mr. Stern’s show had ranked second among this group on WCKG in fall 2005. “Certainly, we’re looking for Opie and Anthony to get more traction in the marketplace than they currently have,” said Rod Zimmerman, CBS’s senior vice-president and market manager in Chicago. “But after four months on the air, we are pleased with the results.”

That's one crappy station in Chicago that won't support anything anymore. CBS moved Rover to Chicago and people wouldn't tune in. Rover now refers to that as the biggest mistake of his life. WCKG is in the toilet as a whole so you can't blame ratings on the morning show. Rover and O&A both do better with younger audiences while WCKG target audience is 40+

I have heard people say that live in the Chicago area that they have big billboards up about the O&A show to promote it, and it's not helping. I personally would be pissed if I paid for XM to hear O&A and they started doing part of their show on Free FM. It's gotta water it down. And Rover is a no-talent hack, who should have just stayed a local Cleveland guy.
