yes, lets all hate on clausen because he went to notre dame! how about lets not, does anyone remember how bad brady quinn was his sophomore year and how darn good he was last year, i would have never thought of him to be a heisman candidate. I'm pretty sure weis knows his quarterbacks, he also knows talent. Proof: Kerry neal was offered a scholarship by Weis when he saw his gametape, now Neal has been given the grade of an 88 by Scouts, Inc. which is higher than Ben Martin(80) and Justin Trattou(79). So, even if this kid is not "the best" quarterback right now, trust me Weis will make a superstar.

I like Mallet and Korn the best from the film I've seen. Mallet is so immobile it is stunning, but that cannon for an arm makes up for it. Korn has it all IMO, I like him alot. Clausen is 26 years old (slight exaggeration) and hard to judge by what I have heard about the level of competition. He also looks like he would break in half if you bumped into him. I also have a natural dislike for prima donnas and I have major questions about the haircut. He seems like a prime candidate to flame out a la Todd Marinavich.

LOL you are on the wrong board for ND apologists.
NA, Notre Ame.

Well he doesnt exactly shy away from all of the attention...

And how much of that talent is on the defensive side of the ball?

sorry for having a different opinion than all ohio state fans

Clausen is old for his grade and dominates shitty teams playing alongside many D-1 prospects.

Hes cocky and loves all the attention.

Now throw in the fact that Lemming thinks he was the best player in the country regardless of class last year, and thats why many think hes overrated.

EDIT: The media lovefest with ND doesnt help either. For example, the nationally televised commitments for almost every recruit.

You are free to have an opinion but when that opinion hijacks a thread and steers the conversation into flaming and completely off course, it will be moved to to another thread. If you wish to proclaim the strengths/weaknesses of a 5-star QB as the thread is designed to do, feel free. However, if you are only here to spout off the wonders of Notre Dame, you need to find a new site.

nbogan1, Clausen plays against the weakest competition in the entire state of California with the best high school athletes/players that money can recruit. There are 9-10 other legit D-1 prospects on that team. You throw Mallett or Korn on that team against that competition and they'll have a field day too. Mallett and Korn both play with alot less D-1 talent on their HS teams but against much better competition than Clausen.

Don't lie, xrayrandy fed you those stats, right?

Lots of QBs have had great stats. If stats told the entire story, every QB in the NFL would be from Texas Tech and Boise State.

Can you give me links to all the Notre Ame message boards so I can go cry on them whenever they don't annoint an OSU player (past/present/future) as the greatest ever? It looks fun.
