Big man Micah Potter signs with Ohio State

The Mentor native makes it official.
Remember when college basketball analysts, and fans questioned the depth of Ohio State's frontcourt? Well, those days are far behind them. Recently bringing in Dave Bell, Daniel Giddens, and Virginia Tech transfer Trevor Thompson to the program, Thad Matta, Jeff Boals and the rest of the Buckeyes coaching staff will soon have another big man on the roster to try to mold into a future NBA first round pick.
After being verbally committed since the 20th of April, Micah Potter is officially a Buckeye. On Wednesday morning the three-star post presence put pen to paper, and signed his national letter of intent with the Ohio State University.
Land-Grant Holy Land and 270Hoops recruiting analyst Zach Fleer had the following to say on the 6'10, 245-pound soon-to-be Buckeye:
"A versatile big that chose Ohio State over the likes of West Virginia, Iowa and virtually all of the Mid-American Conference, Potter is a strong scorer on the inside, while also having the skill to step out on the perimeter and score away from the basket. A solid athlete that can run the floor and finish in transition, Potter should fit in nicely with Ohio State, as the Buckeyes' program seemed to be his best fit since he was offered earlier in the year."
Potter, a Mentor native who now suits up Montverde Academy (FL), the same prep program that produced former Buckeye standout turned Los Angeles Lakers point guard D'Angelo Russell, averaged 20 points and 9 rebounds a game last season while at Mentor High.
Considered not just one of the top seniors in the Midwest, but the country, Potter is currently ranked as the 21st center, and 169th overall prospect in the 2016 class, according to the 247Sports Composite.
