If you had someone who wanted to give you tickets to a lesser game at the SHOE (no mich, PSU) who would you see...ie: SDSU, Cinncy ect.

If we're looking at '06 only, and eliminating scUM and PSU, that leaves the following games:

9/2 - NIU
9/16 - Cincinnati
10/7 - BGSU
10/21 - Indiana
10/28 - Minnesota

Of those, I would take Minnesota.

NIU.

1) It's the home opener of a season with unbelievable expectations.

2) If the game goes well the starters sit and you'll see a healthy dose of Beenie in his college debut.

3) It's alumni band day, which means Quad-Script Ohio and a great Skull Session.

NIU would be cool since it's the first game of the year. However, I expect we'll be so hyped up for that one that the game won't be close after the second quarter. To tell you the truth, I only see one home game potentially being close, and that's scUM, which is off the table for the purposes of this question.

I'd probably choose Minnesota just b/c I think they're the only other team that could potentially play us close. Besides, I'd rather go to a game later in the season when the weather is more like football weather. The first few home games of the year are always sunny and about 85 degrees (e.g., NC State in '03, Marshall in '04, and Miami in '05 were all brutally hot days at the Shoe)--they feel too much like summer.

Home openers are pretty good. But I like cold weather more than I like hot weather. I tend to try to choose games later in the season to avoid the hot. I'd probably choose Minnesota or Indiana.

I had basically this same choice since I opted to buy tickets from a friend instead of getting my season ticket (I am not eligible for two tickets for another couple of years), and I chose Minny
