So next week I'll be up in Ohio for the Wisconsin game since it is at 8, there is no way in hell my phone lasts the entire day (especially since I'll be on 4G most of the time), and since I plan on taking pictures with it instead of the crap camera that I have.

I'm looking into buying the electra case from Trident for my S3 (or any other extendable battery), anyone use that before? I like the big cases for my phone which is why I'm looking in that one (I'm already using the Trident Kraken).

Or should I just buy another battery and replace it once it goes out?

I'm kinda leaning toward a 2nd battery

I get pretty decent battery on my phone, but with it being on 4G the whole day instead of WiFi, no way it's gonna last me 12 hours with the heavy use it's going to get

On Amazon:
$10 - battery
$25 - case

I'd be buying two extra batteries before I bought a case similar to that.

not sure I want to buy a refurbished or different type of battery that doesn't come directly from Samsung

The case that I use now cost me $50, don't mind spending the extra money to know it will work properly

They all do the same thing, but the larger one (with the higher mAh number) will recharge your device more times. The bigger the mAh the more battery "juice" in the Anker battery. Mine, which is only 3200 mAh, will recharge my iPhone about 1 and a half times. Your mileage may vary, of course.

i'm assuming when you say 1.5 times, you mean before you have to recharge the pack again?

so in theory, if my battery is 2,100 mAh, and let's say the charge I get is 6,000, I should be able to recharge it close to 3 times before the pack dies?

The reason I want the slimmer one (6,000 or 4,500 mAh) is because I'm going to have to walk around with it in my pocket most of the day, and want to be able to charge it easy, instead of having that huge ass pack...Don't think I'll need that big of one since I won't be doing any dual charging

I agree that the smaller (slimmer) one might be the better choice for you. My 3,200 is a lot lighter than my iPhone 5. Note that the cord on the Anker is a mini usb so you might need an adapter for your phone.
