COLUMBUS, Ohio - Zach Hurley, a junior outfielder for the Ohio State baseball team, has been named the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League?s (GLSCL) player of the week for his efforts playing for the first-place Cincinnati Steam.
Hurley hit .556 this past week, going 10-for-18 with six runs scored and four RBI. He also slugged at a .571 percentage as the Steam, 11-4 on the season, won three of five games to remain in first place in the league standings.
Hurley is currently leading the GLSCL with a .512 batting average (22-of-43) and with 14 runs scored. His two home runs are tied for the league lead and he also has contributed nine RBI to his hometown team. Hurley is from Springboro, Ohio, just outside of Cincinnati.
