Baltimore Orioles (2011 Season)

  • Ok I was lazy and didn't put this thread up until now...

But hell, 4-0 so far on the season, their 2nd best pitcher is on the DL to get possibly their best pitcher (Britton) up to the Major League level already....

I think the O's finishing .500 is a decent possibility at this point if they stay healthy. We'll see what happens when they face Texas....

I believe I saw a ESPN graphic that showed what the standings would look like in the East if they were counting from Buck's first game as manager until now.

O's had like a 4 1/2 game lead over the last 35 (or so) games. 2nd best record in the Bigs since the day he took over. Wow.

Always had a soft spot for the Birds, I'll be rooting for them to have success.

I have never forgotten the sendoff they gave Earl Weaver in Baltimore after that ALCS loss to Milwaukee.

I'd love to see some of the proud franchises of the 70's (Baltimore, KC, Cincy) come back to life.

Same here, Jax. I lived in Columbia, MD for 10 years and went to at least 2 dozen O's games at the old Memorial Stadium and at the new Camden Yards park. Great atmospheres both.

5-1 after winning the game tonight.

This offense might be hit or miss all season long. When they hit they'll score 5+ runs per game easily and probably more. When they aren't hitting well as a team they'll struggle to put guys on base and score....

some teams can manufacture runs, this isn't one of those teams I don't think...

to hell with it though, I mean they have a 5 game lead on the Red Sox for the first time since the mid-90s

after the win tonight they back to 12-13 on the year and have won 4 of their last 5.

They'll be up and down all year long, but the pitching is still pretty good especially since they are still playing without Matusz.

    errr yeah....

Anyway, seeing them rally in the 8th against the Sox bullpen was nice to see. the Orioles offense has been a bit of a worry at the beginning of this year but they've been getting it done against both of the Soxes.
