There are a few threads on "Buckeye" names for kids, but I'm interested in what 'style' in general do you (parents) have when naming your children? My wife and I discuss kid's names even when 'we're' not pregnant.
...Traditional, Modern, Biblical, Cultural, etc.?
My wife and I have 3 kids, two boys and a girl, with our most recent coming this past Summer: 1.) Taylor Ian (boy), 2.) Genevieve Dawn (girl), & 3.) Liam MaireSean.
My wife named our oldest...and thank GOD we went with what we did because she still somewhat laments (partially in jest now, but seriously considered then) not naming him Jensen Avery (would have NEVER let this happen!). Don't know where/why she came up with that, but it was not a legit possibility now, nor will it ever be...and as you can see from above, I consider myself to be pretty open minded when it comes to naming our children (as long as it has some family / cultural meaning & purpose to it)
Our daughter is named after my grandmother with her middle name coming from my wifes middle name.
And our most recent son's name is the Irish for one of my brother's name, William and a second brother's Irish religious name (studying to be a priest, but that's another topic )
I like a bit of the unique I suppose. My in-laws have asked me when we are going to give them a grandchild with a "normal" name...which is funny to me because my wife's name is Charlene (not exactly main stream America if you ask me :tongue2:)
Anyway, we also have a couple of 'back-up' names already planned that I really like (in case we were to have a girl last pregnancy or twins, or even future children, etc.): Kieran David & Claire Magdalene (I've always wanted a little girl nic-named 'Maggie / Mags', but my wife can't stand the name Margaret).
So what's everyone elses' preferences? Anyone care to share? Anyone have a kid named Patrick? (my name) I don't hear/see a lot of 'Patricks' around.
