The tBBC Staff had quite the wish list for Saturday’s game against Minnesota. Let’s dive in to see how things worked out for the lads.

MaliBuckeye

12 Gauge Time: It wasn’t magical, it was barely functional. Of 66 snaps, he had 3 productive plays. But, hey, OSU won.

Slobber Knocker: Nothing spectacular, but the offensive line made good plays when it really mattered. The Other Thing? One false start and one holding on offensive line.

Old Man Braxton: Brax is developing into a nightmare-inducing receiver.

Special Score: They’re still due.

Youth: Unfortunately, this game was too close for too long for the Young Bucks to see anything worthwhile.

Michael Smith

Fast Start: They did score before Minnesota did, but it wasn’t exactly “out of the blocks” fast.

Miller Time: Still no signs of life for Brax other than as a receiver.

Impress the Committee: Not so much. However, Buckeyes were much more impressive than LSU, MSU and TCU.

Marshall Redemption: Bingo! No turnovers! (For Jalin)

Ken Kohl

A Win: Not a smack-down, but a win.

No Injuries: Brax got dinged a bit, so a ‘fail’ on my part.

No Turnovers: A lost fumble near the end of the 3rd quarter. Rats!

No Penalties: 5 penalties – 45 yards. Another ‘fail’ on my part.

WVaBuckeye

Play Action Cardale: Tough sledding to get Elliott “established” and Cardale was not very accurate.

Defense Wins Championships: Defense played pretty well; at one point outscoring both offense combined

Gopher Stew: Nope. Buckeyes didn’t ice this game until less than 2 minutes remained.

MDotySr

Domination: D-line looked pretty good, other than that, “just good enough” was the theme.

300: You’re looking for a bit much, unfortunately.

Webbing: Vonn got the pick 6; will you settle for Belling?

No Injuries: Brax a little dinged up, but other than that..

Second Team Action: Buckeyes just couldn’t put the Gophers away. Darn it.

Beauty and the Beast: Did you make it?

JC Collingsworth

Buckeyes out Strong & Fast: A bit tentative and slow to start the game. You’ll need to define “deliver”.

More of Braxton: Maybe he’s best as a WR?

Buckeye Nation Shuttering their Lips & Stop Whining: We’re just glad to get a win, baby!

Brandon Zimmerman

Confident 12 Gauge: No, CJ appeared lost and confused. Not much in the way of pocket presence. He did “chuck the ball around” but too often it was just in the general direction of a receiver.

Competent Run Defense: Oddly, Leidner had a pretty decent game throwing the ball. Fortunately, OSU’s run defense (1.3 YPC) was more than competent. Good call.

Braxton Being Braxton: I don’t think I’d set my expectations for anything other than Braxton being a terrorizing receiver.

Patrick Jones

Throw Braxton Throw: He didn’t, and we’d love to see a TD pass, too.

ZEEEEKKKKEEEE: Another +100 yard game. Nothing flashy, just good steady doses of Zeke and O-line play.

Shutout: Not this week, but the Silver Bullets did play pretty well.

Joe Dexter

Big Plays For Zeke: Nope. Will you settle for a 15 yard TD run?

Four Plays Over 15: The Silver Bullets have held three teams this season to less than four plays over 15 yards. I want to see that on Saturday against a depleted Minnesota team.

Run,Catch,Throw it Braxton: Sort of, yes, no.

Redemption for Cardale: Cardale did account for two touchdowns, so that counts for something.
