I think it's a terrible job. Dominate your rival for most of a decade, have an undefeated season, and have generally very good success and then get kicked out? No thanks. Plus, Tubby had to constantly fire coordinators about once or twice a year to keep the boosters happy. Again, no thanks.

Potentially one of the great jobs in college football. But rapidly becoming the next graveyard of coaches. A very tough crowd to please because of Alabama's historical football significance.
But the next coach could catch a little break when Saban leaves for the next upgrade job.
Or on the cusp of another NCAA investigation/death penality?

Yep. Its pretty well known one major booster pretty much runs the show down there and if what TT did wasn't good enough then you seriously have to wonder.

So on one hand if you are a big name coach looking at Auburn you know you have all that BS to deal with but the other hand is going to be busy counting some serious money. Comes down to the guy and where he's at in his career imo.

Overall in the landscape of CFB I think Auburn is a job a notch below "Big Time". I'd put them on par with MSU/Wisky/Iowa but with a psycho all powerful booster that thinks they should be on par with UF/OSU/Texas/USC.

You shall never hear me speak ill of their co-ed situation or friendliness. Holy hell.

How good of a job to people think the Auburn job is in the SEC?

Ok seriously now.

It could be a really good one. Location ain't great, but it is easy driving distance from Atlanta, Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi, etc. so it is fertile recruiting grounds.
Fans fill that stadium as well as anyone else in the SEC.

Problem is that their fanbase and boosters think they're batter and more prestigous than they actually are.
They'll always be 2nd fiddle in Alabama, and 3rd or so in the SEC West.
But listen to them, and they think their history is richer than Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and USC combined.

Top ten reasons why Auburn is a great job:

10. Just one meddlesome booster to worry about
09. Never have to play a game outside of the Confederacy
08. Unlimited recruiting budget
07. Not one but two groovy mascots!
06. Strong relationships with JUCO's and prep schools throughout the country
05. Free checking at Colonial Bank
04. With Alabama and Tennessee in your conference, you'll always look "clean" by comparison
03. Auburn girls have SEC speed!
02. Only two hours from civilization
01. Hey, anything's better than Iowa State!
