BLACKSBURG, VA – SEPTEMBER 7: Quarterback Cardale Jones #12 (Photo by Michael Shroyer/Getty Images)

I never expected Cardale Jones to run out on the field when the game started. Did anyone else? He claims he didn’t find out until right then and there.
I say that’s a bunch of baloney. He took almost all of the first-team reps during pre-game according to a sideline reporter.
Shouldn’t that have been a clue? And The Buckeye Battle Cry: Ohio State News…I also read that Urbs reportedly told both QBs who was starting last week.
Anyway, it worked out. We got a win, which is what I wanted.
But did everyone get what they wanted?

Me
A win: Check.
No injuries: I don’t think I heard of any. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Mike
Continued momentum: Except for a stretch in the second quarter and a few glitches here and there on defense, I thought the Bucks picked up right where they left off. And someone kick me if I ever use that cliché again.
DL to be dominant: The D-line missed Joey Bosa. No doubt about it. But I thought the front four did a great job pressuring the QB and limiting runs.
WR U: The replacements were not that impressive. But Braxton Miller and Michael Thomas were OK, as was Curtis Samuel. Each had a pair of catches. I assume those numbers will increase as we go.
Make believers: Cardale did OK, according to the Coach. I agree. He threw a couple of risky passes and was rather pedestrian at 9 of 18. But he didn’t to anything to show he should not have been starting.
The obvious: No injuries and a win. Still had some turnovers. Those are correctable.

Charles
No more than one turnover: Three is more than one, right?
New people stepping up: Defensively I thought Tommy Schutt did well. Not impressed with the replacement WRs. Can’t even remember their names.
No jitters in the offensive play calling: For a while there I thought Tom Herman was back, especially with some of the WR screens and deep balls. I think it’ll work out fine.
TBDBITL showing how its done: Got R did.

WVaBuckeye
Best foot forward: Zeke, other than his 80-yard TD run was not a factor running. But he was huge in the blocking part of the offense. We needed that.
Isolate their best: Lots of man-to-man coverage. Could not connect as much as we all hoped. It will improve.
Win the coaching duel: I think Urbs got a bit of revenge here. They were ready for what Bud Foster threw at them and took what they could get.
MaliBuckeye
Play like you belong: Except for the second quarter, they looked extremely dominant.
Meh-Tallica: They took the crowd out early. Let it back in for a bit before halftime but then seized control. I even heard an O-H-I-O chant.
No false starts: Didn’t see any. One more game and you are not allowed to ask anymore.
Braxton: He did what he does. He good.
Eli: Got burnt a few times but I think he was solid.
Hydra: All three QBs on the field at the same time? Love the idea. Had Brax and Cardale out there. Wait for it. It will happen.
Patrick
Blocking up front: I know the numbers indicate otherwise, but I was generally not impressed with the O-line. Long way to go.
Steady dose of Eze: VaTech’s scheme is not conducive to running 20 times.
Silver Bullets: They missed Bosa, no doubt. But others stepped up and hit hard. Need to tighten up a few things but the bullets were silver.
Hold on to the ball: 0, ZERO, turnovers Monday night. Still waiting.

Ken (who has to be different when he submits his information)
I’d like to see a win. You saw it.
I’d like to see no injuries. You saw that too.
I’d like to see +300 yards total offense from whoever starts at QB for Ohio State. Fifteen yards short.
I’d like to Zeke rush for +200 yards. Maybe this week.
I’d like to see the defense hold VT to 17 or fewer points. The first unit did.

Jason
Running: See above somewhere. Zeke couldn’t get 20 carries.
No penalties: A couple of dumb penalties
Pick 6: Pick 0
XBrax360: He had a video game TD run.

Joe
Start off strong At Lane Stadium: They came out on fire. Just wish they wouldn’t have cooled off.
Protect The QB: Cardale stayed clean for the most part.
Protect the football: Need more stickum.
Convert on third down: Three of nine. Meh.
Score 30+: Yeah boyeee.
