It's my understanding that freedom comes with a price. i.e. the site loads you up with cookies for other spammers. Zat so?

I would HIGHLY discourage using either program for PC. Both are chock full of spyware and slow down your computer a lot. If you must use a P2P program, use Shareaza. It's open source, searches more networks and is very fast.

elbo.ws is an excellent music blog aggregator. for example, if you were to search for songs by radiohead, here is what you would find. not all of the mp3 links will still be live; however, there is still much available. obviously, the music blogs are updated regularly. archive.org is another great site. you'll mainly find live recordings here. for example, here are the results for my morning jacket. the hype machine is a good site, too. you can also just google for mp3 files.
