CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Ohio State baseball team fell to Cincinnati, 5-3, Wednesday night at Marge Schott Stadium. With the loss, the Buckeyes drop to 23-12 on the season while the Bearcats improve to 14-21.
Ohio State wasted no time getting on the board against Cincinnati starter Grant Walker in the top of the first. Ryan Cypret singled to left and Kirby Pellant followed with an infield single to put runners on first and second with one down. After Pat Porter struck out for the second out of the inning, Jacob Bosiokovic hit a hard ground ball to third that Forrest Perron was unable to come up with and Cypret came around to score the first run of the game.
The Bearcats threatened against Ohio State starter Jake Post in the bottom of the frame when Ian Happ and Justin Glass both reached on singles and stole a base to put runners on second and third with two down. However, the Buckeye freshman was able to get Matt Williams to ground out to short to end the inning and keep Ohio State up 1-0 after an inning of play.
