AFC Divisional Playoff: Jets at Patriots(-8.5)

Wes Welker managed to say the words 'foot' or 'feet' about 10 times during his time in front of the press. :slappy:

Rex Ryan said in response "I can take it, but I won't discuss it."

"I'll tell you what," Bart Scott said via Newsday when asked about Wes Welker's foot routine Thursday. "Be very careful what you say about our coach. His [Welker's] days in a uniform will be numbered. Put it like that."

Just shut up and play. :roll2:

I never thought I'd be a Pats fan, but I hope they kill the Jets. They talk way too much for a team that has done nothing.

The NFL has told multiple teams the trash talk and bravado that surfaced this week was expected to stay off the field.
As a result, players' controversial comments could be taken into account in evaluating any potential disciplinary action that results from illegal hits or other banned physical acts in this weekend's playoff games.
League spokesman Greg Aiello on Saturday confirmed the communication from Ray Anderson, the NFL's executive vice president for football operations, to the clubs. There was no indication whether Anderson, the league's chief disciplinarian, specifically named any players.

I was cool with all the "trash talk" through the week. I thought it was hilarious and entertaining. Scott's comments, eh, somewhat threatening but I don't see any real harm in them. IMO, I do not feel as though the NFL should step in and warn players or monitor the "trash talk," I feel players have been under the microscope for hits and on-field issues that haven't exactly been consistent in rulings or penalties. But it's their league and it's the most popular sport in America right now. I think the talk is good and interesting for the storylines of the game. Hopefully, it adds to the game's entetainment. And of course no one is seriously injured, but sticks and stones.

To make it even lamer, Bart Scott used to say the same shit about Hines Ward "someone's going to kill him" back when he was a rat bird.

Hines Ward is still alive.

+1. I can't stand Rex Ryan. Nothing wrong with a little bit of swagger, but some players and teams take it too far.
