COLUMBUS, Ohio:
In addition to televising the Sept. 10 Ohio State-Texas game, ABC has announced that it also will carry both the Sept. 3 Ohio State-Miami and the Sept. 24 Ohio State-San Diego State games.

The season opener between the Buckeyes and Miami will kickoff shortly after noon. San Diego State is slated for 3:36 p.m. EDT.

The Ohio State-Texas game is slotted for prime time and will kickoff shortly after 8 p.m.

Those are the only three firm game times as of now, although, the Ohio State at Penn State game on Oct. 8 will be a night game and will kickoff either at 7 p.m. on ESPN2 or 7:45 on ESPN. Additionally, the start time for Nov. 19 is again 1 p.m. on ABC. Teams for that time slot have not yet been confirmed.

Miami, Texas & SDSU are all ABC
Iowa should be a good bet
Penn State is ESPN
And Michigan is obviously a lock

Not bad for those of us stuck in regional coverage areas of other teams

This is probably a stupid question, but is this saying these games will be nationally televised?
No. ABC has picked up the games for their ABC affiliates' regional coverage. The only game that will be nationally televised is the Texas game.

... simply means you won't have to bother surfing around to figure out if the Miami OH game is on ESPN, ESPN2, or ESPN+ (which in central ohio is WBNS10TV, a CBS affiliate).

Also, I think the third date is wrong. They did correctly mention the SDSU game, but they listed the date for the Iowa game. The Iowa meeting time won't be scheduled until there is poll data to determine national interest in that game. The article headline correctly states 'first three games,' which means Miami, Texas, and SDSU.

What is ESPN Plus? Why is it ESPN Plus instead of simply CBS? In Cleveland, it seems that sometimes ESPN Plus is the CBS affiliate (WOIO, I think), and sometimes its on UPN (WUAB).

Seeing that SDSU will be on ABC surprised me. I think you guys are right: Iowa game is on ABC.
