Ok so i really have been putting a lot of thought in to this lately...I want to go back to school. I want to go back to school for sports marketing. I just have this feeling that for some reason, this is the right thing for me to do. I dont ever see myself getting the job I want dealing with computers and such, so I have been thinking of taking a new path down the career road...

Does anyone here work in sports at all? Has anyone here ever thought about pursuing a career in sports??

My long term goal is to become a sports agent..Thats always been something that has been in the back of my head, but recently it has become the main thing on my mind lately, and i want to know the best steps to go about to get all this started..Thanks for any opinions and help..

You may want to get in touch with a firm that represents athletes. I know Cleveland has at least one big firm, but am unsure if there are any in Columbus. You may also want to check with some law schools to see if they specialize in this field.

Do you have an undergrad degree? If not, you will want to structure one that fits your future career goals.

I do not actually work in the sports business, but if I were going to give you any advice, it would be the same as I received a long time ago.

1) Be really good at NCAA Football on PlayStation
2) Have a lot of posts on BP
3) Talk about Sports a lot with your friends. :wink2:

If that does not work, and you really want to pursue the career of being a sports agent I would suggest you contact Brett Adams here in Columbus. He is a very well known agent and has a very prosperous business.

Here is a link to their website. It has an area for aspiring professionals.

Good Luck.
