The marquee Buckeye camp happens tonight
Grimes makes it to Columbus
When it comes to pass catchers in this years recruiting class, one of the top targets at the position for the Buckeyes is undoubtedly 2017 wide receiver Trevon Grimes (Fort Lauderdale, FL / St. Thomas Aquinas). Grimes has been a prospect that Ohio State has pursued for quiet some time and this weekend, the opportunity has arrived for Head Coach Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes to make a big impression on the 6-foot-3, 202-pounder.

On Thursday afternoon, the Fort Lauderdale native posted a picture on Twitter of his plane ticket to The Buckeye State; he eventually arrived in Columbus on Thursday evening – as Friday Night Lights happens tonight.
Grimes, currently graded as the fourth best wide receiver in the class, will be making his first visit to the campus since he was a freshman. Right now, all signs point to Ohio State being in great position with the 20th overall player in this 2017 class and tonight, they have a chance to put themselves in a better spot for Grimes.
Grimes currently intends to make his collegiate decision in just over one month on August 24. Schools also in the mix for The Sunshine State standout include Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia and Miami (FL).
Bell coming for FNL
A surprise addition to the always loaded Friday Night Lights visitor list came about on Thursday morning. Athlete of the 2017 class, Markquese Bell (Bridgeton, NJ / Bridgeton) announced his presence at the event just before noon.
Bell is currently graded as the 178th overall prospect in the class and is pegged as a four-star recruit. Additionally, he stands at 6-foot-3 and 194 pounds while holding the title as the third best player from the state of New Jersey – and is slotted as the sixth best athlete for 2017.
We’ll see if the Buckeyes can make a move for Bell. As of now, Clemson, Michigan and Rutgers are the three schools that have had predictions casted in their favor for Bell.
Munford excited for FNL
Sticking to this years recruiting class, Ohio State currently hold pledges from 2017 offensive tackle Jake Moretti (Arvada, CO /Pomona) and Josh Myers (Miamisburg, OH / Miamisburg).
However, that’s not stopping one in-state prospect from coming to Ohio Stadium with a chip on his shoulder in hopes to impress the Buckeyes coaching staff.
2017 OT Thayer Munford (Massillon, OH / Washington), a massive 6-foot-5, 339-pounder, has yet to receive an offer from Ohio State, but he is still excited about tonight’s Friday Night Lights challenge in which he will surely compete.
I cant wait to do this Friday Night Camp at Ohio State tomorrow #BuckeyeNation

Would it be all that surprising if the three-star prospect landed an offer with a good performance at the camp? Not really. However, with two tackles already in the fold and 2017 offensive guard Wyatt Davis (Bellflower, CA /St. John Bosco), who can probably play anywhere along the offensive line, the likelihood of Munford ultimately becoming a Buckeye seems slim.
For now, it’s Pittsburgh who is favored on the 247Sports Crystal Ball to land the mammoth quarterback protector.
