A key Buckeye commit will miss the rest of his senior season.

One of the top rated Ohio State commits watched his season end early over the weekend.

Taking on Tate Martell, and the posse of OSU commits, and targets at Bishop Gorman (NV), St. Thomas Aquinas (FL) star wide receiver Trevon Grimes went down with a knee injury. In the 3-overtime loss to the Gaels, Grimes, who scored on a 53-yard reception, came up injured in the fourth quarter, and didn’t return to action.

After an announcement that he didn’t break any bones, it was first reported by Bill Kurelic of Bucknuts that Grimes tore his ACL in his left knee, and is out for the remainder of St. Thomas Aquinas’ season.

While it’s never good to see anyone get injured, the five-star standout should be ready to participate fully when he arrives on the Ohio State campus next year.

Land-Grant Holy Land wishes Trevon Grimes nothing but the best with his recovery.

OSU target commits

After recently announcing that he would officially visit Ohio State and others, five-star linebacker Dylan Moses of IMG Academy (FL) took to his Twitter page on Sunday afternoon to let the world know that he will suit up for Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Never thought as a lock or even a lean towards the Buckeyes, Moses was always pegged to be headed to play for LSU, but after the Tigers fired head coach Les Miles last week, it opened the door for other programs to swoop in and lock up his pledge.

Hawkins visits Ohio State

Ohio State class of 2018 quarterback commit Emory Jones might’ve headlined the list of recruits who invaded Columbus for the Buckeyes match-up against Rutgers, but he wasn’t the only big name prospect in the stands on Saturday afternoon.

Three-star 2017 defensive tackle Aeneas Hawkins (Cincinnati / Archbishop Moeller) also made the trek to Ohio Stadium to watch the Silver Bullets battle with the Scarlet Knights and mingle with the OSU coaching staff.

“The coaching staff is phenomenal. I got to spend some time with (recruits) Emory Jones, and Jackson Carman. All the coaches had a very positive message. They were excited that I came up, and they want me back again soon.” Hawkins stated to Land-Grant Holy Land.

The 6-foot-3, 260-pound standout holds scholarship offers from not just Ohio State, but programs such as Florida State and Notre Dame.
