Signs point to Lindsey heading back to Bishop Gorman

Lindsey back to Bishop Gorman?

Back in February of this year, 2017 wide receiver Tyjon Lindsey announced that he was transferring from Bishop Gorman (NV) and heading to Centennial (CA) to play his senior season. However, as of Wednesday, that looks like it will not be coming to fruition.

According to Eric Sondheimer of the Los Angeles Times, Lindsey has not attended practice for the Huskies this week. Sondheimer also spoke with Centennial Head Coach Matt Logan, who stated that he expects the speedy wideout to head back to Bishop Gorman. Likewise for Raymond Brewer of the Las Vegas Sun, who wrote that Lindsey is back in Nevada and is attempting to come back to the Gaels.

What does this mean for Ohio State? Maybe in the grand scheme, not much. The Buckeyes already seemed to be the favorite to land the 5-foot-8, 180-pounder and an overwhelming percentage of predictions on the 247Sports Crystal Ball all but confirm that.

With that being said, it certainly won’t hurt to have 2017 quarterback Tate Martell, an Ohio State commit, delivering passes to you once again.

Lindsey is expected to make his collegiate choice next Monday on the 22nd. The schools in the running for the consensus top 5 WR include Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oregon, Tennessee, Oregon and Ohio State.

USA Today honors 5 future Bucks

USA Today released the 2016 American Family Insurance All-USA preseason team and future Buckeyes littered the list of prospects. On offense, ‘17 offensive tackle Josh Myers (Miamisburg, OH / Miamisburg) and ‘17 offensive guard Wyatt Davis (Bellflower, CA / St. John Bosco), Ohio State’s two highest rated pledges, made the list. Tate Martell, who was mentioned earlier, was named as an honorable mention.

On the defensive side, two soon-to-be Buckeye defensive backs received the honor of making the team. 2017 safety Isaiah Pryor from IMG Academy (FL) and ‘17 cornerback Shaun Wade from Trinity Christian Academy (FL) too the honors.

Lastly, for special teams, it was three-star ‘17 kicker Blake Haubeil from Christian (NY) who rounded out the list.

Ohio State lead all programs with the most verbal commitments to be named to the All-USA preseason team for the list. As mentioned above, five future Buckeyes were selected. The closest programs to that mark were the Crimson Tide of Alabama and Georgia – who both had three.

Other potential Buckeyes to be included on the list would be ‘17 RB Cam Akers, ‘17 LB Baron Browning, ‘17 RB Najee Harris (Alabama commit), ‘17 LB Anthony Hines, ‘17 CB Christian Holmes, ‘17 WR Trevon Grimes, ‘17 S Jeffrey Christian, and ‘17 WR Donovan Peoples-Jones.
