'23 CA CG Bronny James (USC commit)

LeBron James has message about son Bronny after big high school playoff win

LeBron James’ son Bronny, already a captivating NBA draft prospect, has been rounding into one of the best high school players in the country.

A senior at Sierra Canyon High School, he is currently ranked No. 28 in the ESPN 100 for the 2023 senior class.

In a match-up against Etiwanda in the CIF Southern California Regional Division 1 playoffs, James paced the team with a squad-high 21 points in front of his famous father, who sat front row in a walking boot due to a foot injury that will sideline him for at least a few weeks.

Sierra Canyon won, 61-55, and will enter the regional championship game on Saturday and LeBron shouted out his eldest son’s special performance.

“Bronny you were SPECIAL tonight kid!!” the Lakers star tweeted. “Keep going!”

It’s still unknown what path James will take for the 2023-24 season prior to presumably entering the NBA Draft.

According to 247 Sports, James reportedly has offers from Memphis, Ohio State and USC, while ESPN included Kentucky, Oregon and Michigan.

It’s also been rumored that James could also consider the G League Ignite route, and Australia’s NBL is also reportedly recruiting Bronny to forego college until playing in the NBA.

Bronny playing in the McDonald's AA game tonight. Kid can stroke it, he plays hard and works hard on his game. Regardless of who his dad is, he'd be a very good fit for OSU at this point because the Buckeyes need a kid just like him. He would probably instantly be the top shooter on this team. I doubt he ends up at OSU, but I see no reason to not want him on the team.

Has improved his game by leaps and bounds, from all accounts. Legitimately a top 25-30 player now.

Think that speaks volumes about him.

So much of early rankings are the splash plays you make on the summer circuit. That has never been Bronny - he's cerebral like his dad. He'll be an elite defender at the next level, but at this point I fully expect him to be at USC.

The higher he gets rated, the more difficult it will be for him & LeBran to be on the same team
so
if they come to same conclusion, he'll go to USC so his dad can watch as much as possible

Closer to his family and he does appear to want to stay close to his younger brother, better for NIL and building his brand which I'm sure his dad is informing him on as he's reportedly expected to make over $7,000,000 if he does go to college for a year, etc.

Plus, let's be honest....Andy Enfield and his up tempo style is much more appealing. Four straight Top 3 finishes in the PAC is pretty damn impressive when you're competing with UCLA, Arizona, and any of the random one season pop ups like Oregon, Washington, ASU, etc.

Saw the AA game highlights, kid has really improved and is earning his ranking. Seems unlikely to end up at OSU, but he would be welcome of course even though I already love the '23 class as-is. So basically pumped if Bronny is in this class, but if he isn't then we'll be good this year with the '22 and '23 class combining (or we better be, most talent we've had on a roster in awhile).

Bronny took part in the McDonald’s All-American game last week to much fanfare. He finished the game with 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting, all from beyond the arc despite his West team falling to the East by a score of 109 to 106. Despite many claiming that he is overhyped, he more than looked the part on a court full of Alphas.
