Head Coach
Wanted to start a thread (if it needs to be moved, I take no offense).

OSU is guaranteed to break the record at (16) selections. I believe they end up with (17). My breakdown below. Note, this list is NOT a prediction in order of how they’ll be taken.

1. Jack Sawyer
2. Emeka
3. JTT
4. J Simmons
5. D. Burke
6. Simon
7. Ransom
8. Judkins
9. Howard
10. Henderson
11. D. Jackson
12. J. Hancock
13. Hamilton
14. T. Williams
15. Gee Scott
16. Seth McGlaughlin
17. Josh Fryar

The wildcard on (16) vs (17) picks is if Gee Scott gets drafted…..I 100% think he will get selected…really upgraded his blocking and is a great pass catching TE. Showed a lot of “team first” character that kinda clouded his entrance into OSU that he completely flipped around and has turned into a strength.

I think Scott gets drafted.

(17) draft picks would be incredible….

Please let me know if I’m somehow missing a player….i don’t think so, but it’s possible if there’s a guy I simply overlooked.

17 draft picks would be freakish and I think a safe record for many years to come.

I just want them to land on the right teams so we're not amazed by a great rookie season then they fall off a cliff.

16 or 17 would be amazing and I think you are right that 16 seems pretty certain. I don't think we will see any top 10 picks, but after that there could be Buckeyes going left and right. I think all of JT, Egbuka, Simmons, Jackson, Burke, Sawyer and Tyleik could go in the first (part of that will depend on the Combine and Pro Day of course). Henderson may even sneak in there for a team that covets his speed and blocking ability, you usually don't get both in one package like that.

I'll say one thing, if the Bengals don't take at least one Buckeye this draft...I am on the fringe of disowning them. We have sooooo many guys in the draft that are veterans and ready to make an immediate impact in the NFL. These aren't some experimental project players or guys that declared too early.

I used to think the Covid year and guys coming back for NIL $$$ would hurt their draft prospects, but I was 100% wrong.

NFL GM’s love taking guys who have matured one extra year and are more certain in their evaluations. There’s also an added benefit that guys are truly hitting their peak on the second contract after 3 years.

Combine could change things but i don’t expect any buckeyes to go top 20. They should get 1-3 late first rounders and 2-3 early 2nd rounders. I could see 8-10 coming off the board day 2.

IMO Ransom will be the steal of the draft.

It’s also possible Fryar and Gee both go undrafted. The late rounds can be a mess and it’s easy for good players to get lost in the shuffle.

I think Fryar raised his draft capital a lot this season. It says a lot that he was a starting RT on a championship team. I don’t think he has a blockbuster NFL career but I think he’s definitely shown he has the ability to be a depth piece in the NFL…..and he has flexibility which is always a plus. Might be an NFL guard who can kick out in emergencies…..
