The Buckeyes lone basketball commit in the 2018 class has reopened his recruitment.
He received an offer from Ohio State in June, and committed to the program in July. Now, shooting guard Torrence Watson (Saint Louis, MO / Whitfield School) has reopened his recruitment.
Watson made the announcement on Twitter.
247sports graded Watson as a four-star SG, and the third best guard in the state of Missouri for 2018. Currently, 12 schools have awarded offers to the St. Louis native, with the likes of Illinois, Butler, Creighton, Kansas State and St. Louis on that list.
Where Watson goes next is anyone’s guess. The 247sports Crystal Ball had four predictions for Watson, and each of them pointed to Ohio State. With the Buckeyes now out of the mix for now, expect other schools (especially in the Midwest) to make a move for the services of Watson. With his decommitment, the Buckeyes no longer have any pledges for their 2018 class.
We wish the best for Watson on his future endeavours, on and off the court.
