One of, if not the, weakest #1 seeds I can remember. That resume says it all.Jake;2316459; said:So let's look at the 1 seed out west, Gonzaga.
Gonzaga lost at Butler, on a day when Butler's leading scorer did not play. Saint Louis beat Butler 3 times. VCU beat Butler by 32.
Gonzaga lost at home to Illinois by 11 points.
Gonzaga's wins against tourney teams: Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Pacific, Davidson, Saint Mary's (3 times).

Any insight is obviously appreciated.

I have no idea why New Mex is a 3 with losses to South Dakota St, St Louis (by 14), San Diego St (by 29), UNLV and Air Force. They do not have a single win against a team currently in the top 25.
Of course, we have only beaten three top 10 teams in the last three weeks, so why should we get any props?
And don't get me started about Gonzaga ....
The West may be the weakest bracket I have ever seen - not that there is anything wrong with that.
