2010 Alumni Season Tickets

ScriptOhio

Everybody is somebody else's weirdo.
FWIW, The window is open for alumni to order season tickets. It gets earlier every year:

This year, your ordering period is shifting to February 18th through March 18th. Beginning in 2011, and from that point forward, your ordering period will be February 1st through February 28th.

The cost this year is ONLY $1135 ($70 per ticket x 8 games x 2 tickets + $15 handling fee).

And how much do you have to donate before you can even apply for season tickets?

In my case nothing, after I graduated (and this was back in 1971) the ticket policy was (basically) for the next 15 years you could order tickets to a game or two. Usually you got the tickets; however, every few years you could get closed out. After 15 consecutive years of ordering tickets you qualified for the right to buy season tickets. I know the program has since changed; however, I got "grandfathered" in for season tickets. I've been getting season tickets every year since 1987. Now if for any reason I don't order season tickets any year I would then lose the opportunity to buy season tickets for all future years. I then would fall back into the current program where you can order tickets to a game of the university's choice, etc. Needless to say my seats are always in the back of the endzone; however, they are inside the stadium.

FWIW, I think that the mnimum donation to buy season tickets is $1500 (i.e. the Buckeye Club). In addition, I believe the more you donate the better seat location you get.

I haven't gotten anything from the alumni club yet. I wonder if you have to buy every year to remain eligible, or if you are a life member, you can skip a year and still remain eligible. My finances are tight this year and I really don't care about seeing a MAC game-and my buddies feel the same way.

It is my understanding that you don't have to buy tickets every year to remain eligible, you just have to be a "paid active" member. All active, dues-paying members of the Alumni Association as of Mar. 1, 2010, are eligible to apply for the 2010 football ticket lottery. The lottery application period will occur between May 3 and May 28, 2010, with lottery results notification being delivered in early July.

I believe that this site will answer all your questions:
