Breaking News... according to sources close to the team, I have learned that tomorrow the Dolphins will select Chris Long as the foundation for their rebuilding efforts. Miami feels he is the perfect fit for their new 3-4 defense and has a non-stop motor and will to win that the franchise desperately needs. With no sure fire franchise QB to take, Miami selects the safest bet for a future all-pro in Long.

Contract details have not yet been released, but we here at ESPN are confident in Roger Goodell's announcement tomorrow.

I like this pick a lot for Miami. Excellent building block moving forward for Bill Parcells, which comes as no surprise with his history of collecting talent.

I've been raving about this young man all year, and all the attention and accolades he receives are well-deserved. Long was the heart and soul of the Cavaliers; his tenacity and desire spilled over to the rest of the squad... and will bring that leadership to a reeling franchise and aging defense.

I know my friend Todd McShay feels differently, but I feel Miami made not only the safe pick, but also one with tremendous potential.

Well it's no secret I've been pandering for Matt Ryan over the sexy pick in Chris Long, but without question this is a worthy pick as well.

Long is not a prototypical edge-rusher, but he's a disruptive force in all facets of the game. He possesses rare versatility and a motor that never quits. Long will be an excellent complement at left end opposite Jason Taylor.

Jake Long, OT, Michigan

Strong pickup for St. Louis. With Orlando Pace aging and ailing, Marc Bulger will be thrilled with this addition.

Draft prospects like Jake Long make scouting look easy. Long was the top offensive lineman on our initial top 32 list back in August, was the top offensive lineman on our board in February and is the top offensive lineman selected in April's draft. Thankfully for my job security, very few college players are as consistently dominant.

Long is not as athletic as last year's top tackle prospect, Joe Thomas, who excelled at left tackle for the Cleveland Browns as a rookie in 2007. However, Long has more than enough range to play left tackle in the NFL, and he is bigger, stronger and more physical than Thomas was coming out of Wisconsin. Long grades out slightly lower than Thomas, who went at No. 3 overall last year, but Long could come off the board earlier in what projects to be a weaker overall class.
