Big Ten baseball tourney: Buckeyes facing a familiar tall order
To earn title, fifth-seeded OSU must win four games

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
If there is a positive for Ohio State going into the Big Ten baseball tournament as the fifth seed and not having a first-round bye, it's that the odds of becoming champion are much better than those of hitting a lottery jackpot. The Buckeyes must win four games in five days, and historically one of those victories usually must come against the host team.
So why has Ohio State won two of the past three conference tournaments as a fifth and sixth seed and four championships since 2002?
"We like to procrastinate around here," outfielder Tony Kennedy joked.
Pitcher Jake Hale said, "It almost looks as if we're sandbagging."

Buckeyes' season ends with 10-8 loss to Indiana

The Buckeyes run in the Big 10 tournament was brief as they lost their 2nd game in as many days and are eliminated.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Indiana defeated Ohio State, 10-8, in a Big Ten tournament elimination game Thursday at Ray Fisher Stadium that featured six ties and lead changes. The win sends Indiana, 29-29, into a 12:05 p.m. "breakfast bracket" game Friday against an opponent that won't be known until the conclusion of the Thursday games. The 125th season of Ohio State baseball comes to a close with the loss. Ohio State finishes with a 30-26 record.
Tony Kennedy had three hits and three RBI in his final collegiate game. Ryan Meade also had three hits and two runs scored. Dan Burkhart and Cory Kovanda had a pair of hits apiece. Alex Wimmers pitched well in relief of starter Jake Hale but took the loss to drop to 0-3 on the season. IU reliever Matt Carr pitched 7.2 innings, allowed just two runs to score and improved to 3-1 with the win.

I dont want anyone to think I dont respect Coach Todd because I do but doesnt there come a time when a program becomes stale/stagnant? The baseball program should be better than this. Winning the Big 10 in baseball is like winning the mac in football. Also not making the CWS in over 40 years just isnt right. Just look at other northern schools who have made it there recently and ask yourself why cant OSU do that? Obviously all of this is my opinion but i just wish the baseball team was better. How do we get there because I have no clue. Could we recruit better? Schedule better? Any thoughts...

Basically, we are the MAC in baseball. It's tough to get what little talent in Ohio there is to stay home. Some on here have argued that Todd needs to do a better job of recruiting outside of Central OH.
