It comes with the territory...a highly recruited future ND QB is something that happens once every couple of years and because ND is a "national" program it brings with it a lot of hype...hype which Jimmy doesn't seem to mind. Ron was very different in that respect.

NDC -- Would you agree with the following?
There appear to be two responses one receives on Clausen from actual ND alums, particularly older alums.
Response A - A quick diversion to discussion of the merits of Jones as the QB in waiting (JC to learn in his first year on campus).
Response B - Admission that Clausen is basking too boldly in the spotlight right now, followed by talking up how Weis will break him down to build him back up. Which is then followed by Response A - Jones at QB.

Those who tout Clausen as the next coming tend to be from the younger crew, with memories of ND football extending perhaps back to Holtz, perhaps not.

Agree, the word is that CW has been very impressed with Jones in practice. I heard DJ gave the first team defense fits more than once.
Not that giving them fits is a big deal...............
