IIRC, it was said that they will evaluate the field after the spring game, and probably install the field turf after the game.

You do recall correctly. The Spring Game will be the last game for a long time played on grass in Ohio Stadium. :(

I wonder if everyone will jump down on the field after the game to grab a chunk of the grass especially since they are just going to tear it up anyway. I went down and got some grass the year before they lowered the field at the stadium. I believe that was after the 2001 season.

They have been $5 (plus service fee) for about the last 5 years, I don't know if they charge more on gameday or not, I always buy in advance.
