Congrats to Ronnie. His accomplishments are great, and well-deserved.
I think Fryer was ripped off by not getting first team:

Batting average: Fryer .385 (2nd in Big Ten), Kunkel .333
Slugging percentage: Fryer .559 (6th in Big Ten), Kunkel .394
On base percentage: Fryer .457 (3rd in Big Ten), Kunkel .419
Runs: Fryer 44, Kunkel 32
Hits: Fryer 75 (5th in Big Ten), Kunkel 66
Doubles: Fryer 14 (7th in Big Ten), Kunkel 12
Triples: Fryer 4 (6th in Big Ten), Kunkel 0
HR: Fryer 4, Kunkel 0
RBI: Fryer 51 (4th in Big Ten), Kunkel 24
Total Bases: Fryer 109 (6th in Big Ten), Kunkel 78

These stats don't even make it a close question.

Bourquin tops list of Big Ten honorees

Wednesday, May 24, 2006

Ohio State third baseman Ronnie Bourquin, a junior from Canton who led the conference in batting average and RBI, was voted Big Ten player of the year by the coaches.

Bourquin joined Steve Caravati (2004), Dan Seimetz (1997) and Jonathan Sweet (1994) as other Buckeyes who have won the award. He is batting .426 with 66 RBI.

J.B. Shuck of Galion, who was 7-4 as a pitcher and batted .336, was named freshman of the year. He’s the ninth Ohio State player to win the award and the first since Jacob Howell in 2004.

Four Buckeyes were voted to the first team: Bourquin, pitcher Dan DeLucia, second baseman Jason Zoeller and center fielder Matt Angle. Bourquin and Angle were unanimous choices.
