Probably tomorrow sinced I've just Jinxed them..... but what the hell???

The team is off to a 10-0 start.....

4 players in the top 15 point getters #1 Afinogenov, #4Drury, #11Vanek, and #13 Briere

Top goal scorer, Drury.

3 of top 5 +/- rankings...Vanek, Tallinder, Lydman

49 Goals for....9 more than any other team. 23 Goals against.
 
It's almost like the league designed the new rules with the Buffalo franchise as the prototype...they'd be mediocre under the older rules, I think, but I'm happy to take it.

I don't know about mediocre.....they'ed still be a playoff team because we still play solid D......

I don't think we'd score as much though....

I don't think the goaltending would be nearly up to par as it was for Brodeur, Roy, Belfour in his prime...we just don't have that. Might make the playoffs as a 6 or 7...that's mediocre to me.

But as it is, they are probably the best in the league.

the schedule hasnt been all that tough, amazing no the less.

goaltending? i dont know how many guys match up wtih roy all time, not many. miller is a stud, he should have been team usa goaltender. biron is no slouch either, hed start for atleast 10 clubs.

best team in the league, probably. though it is october. its about being the best team come springtime.

all that said the team is a joy to watch, they play good hard solid hockey.

That was my point, the successful teams in the old days almost all had the big-time goalies...you don't need those anymore, so we're in much better shape to be an elite team in today's game. This team can win a whole lot of 5-4 games right now, but wouldn't win many 2-0 neutral-zone trap games against the old Devils of the late 90's, for example.

I'm not a fan of the new logo...the uniform is OK by me.... The fans wanted to go back to blue and gold and the management (and reebok) got to creative... they should had a damn "Sabre" on the logo since that the name of the team....


But I'm not to concerned with the fashion aspect of the game anyway.....

8 of our first 10 games were against playoff teams last year including 2 against the Cup winner, one against the presidents trophy winner, and two against division winners.

Granted Philly looks bad this year, and carolina started off rough.... we'll see... ATL is red hot right now...tomorrow will be a tough game....
