Sean Sellers didn?t blend into the background in his freshman season at Greensburg. The 6-5 small forward led his team with a 15.4-point scoring average as the Pirates finished 15-8 and lost in the sectional championship to Batesville.

Because of his size, Sellers was often asked to play in the interior for Greensburg, but has been allowed to move to the wing with the Eric Gordon All-Stars 15s this spring, a position where he?s more comfortable.

?I was probably the second-biggest kid on the team at Greensburg so I had to play mostly inside,? he said. ?But with our AAU team, we have other guys who can play the post.?

Sellers, who also averaged 6.6 assists, said it took a few games of varsity basketball for him to realize he could play at that level. The biggest adjustment was the more physical nature of play. Though it?s sometimes not easy to be a team?s leading scorer as a freshman, Sellers said he felt comfortable with his role by the end of the season.

?A lot of it has to do with confidence,? he said. ?If you believe you belong on the court with those other good players, that?s a big part of it. The first few games I was nervous and I think there were some people who didn?t think I?d do very well, but I got used to it after a while.?

Sellers is very early in his recruitment process, but does have a number of schools showing interest. Coaches from Butler, Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, New Mexico, Ohio State and Purdue have all either been in contact or been to Greensburg for open gyms and workouts.
