Power forward
Anthony Wayne HS
(Whitehouse, OH)

Ht: 6-foot-9
Wt: 200 lbs
Class: 2013 (High School)

Strengths:
Mark is an ever-improving big man in the 2013 class. He has good hands and good feet. He is a solid athlete that can play above the rim. He has developed a solid face-up jumpshot out to 17 feet which has really helped expand his game. He is a good rebounder and uses his big body well inside.

Weaknesses:
He doesn't possess much of a low post game as he prefers to face up. When he does catch it down low it's either a dunk or layup. He do well to add a jump hook, turn around jumper or up-and-under move. He's not much of a shot blocker.

Bottom Line:
Mark has really come on in the last year (2011). He is improving by leaps and bounds as a player and a prospect. He's becoming a priority for mid to high major programs in the midwest already. His added jump shot has made him a high major prospect.

Donnal commanding high major attention
by Alex Bozich in Recruiting | May 17th, 2011

Indiana fans made their way to Assembly Hall on Saturday afternoon to watch two of the nation?s best freshmen ? James Blackmon Jr. and Trey Lyles ? meet Dan Dakich?s Indiana Elite South squad.

And for most of the game?s 32 minutes, it looked like Spiece Indy Heat, led by the pair of Indiana commitments, would emerge victorious.

But Mark Donnal had a different idea.

The 6-foot-9, 200-pound Anthony Wayne (OH) center poured in 23 points and added five rebounds and four blocks as IE South prevailed, 78-77.

The game?s final possession saw Donnal block a runner in the lane from Trevon Bluiett just before time expired.

?He started out, he hit a couple of shots (from the perimeter) and I thought he fell in love,? Dakich said of his emerging sophomore big man after the win. ?He?s a tough guy. I thought at the end when he went down on the block, he just did what he can do. He finally started getting post position. He started getting two feet in the lane.?

The Ohio native?s play this spring has earned him the attention of several high major schools including Butler, Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and Wisconsin.

Spring Scouting: Mark Donnal
by Joe Eberhardt in Recruiting | May 24th, 2011

Inside the Hall continues its series of scouting notes from the spring AAU circuit today with 2013 Anthony Wayne (OH) and Indiana Elite South forward Mark Donnal.

After watching four games at the Indiana State AAU Tournament over the weekend, here are our thoughts on the 6-foot-9, 200-pound Donnal:

? High motor: Donnal is a prospect who plays hard and runs the floor well on almost every possession. He took a few plays off at the State AAU Tournament, but played hard for the majority of the weekend. His motor and intensity allow him to rebound effectively and score often on second chance opportunities. Donnal?s willingness to run the break earns him opportunities for easy baskets in transition.

Michigan lands two 2013 basketball recruits
Jun. 15, 2011
POSTED BY JAMES JAHNKE

The Michigan basketball team received two verbal commitments from 2013 recruits today, marking the first members of that class.

Indiana wing Austin Hatch and Ohio forward Mark Donnal gave their pledge to U-M coach John Beilein today, according to umhoops.com.

Verbal commitments are nonbinding until national letters of intent are signed in October 2012. Hatch and Donnal would enroll at U-M for the 2013-14 season.

Both Donnal, a 6-foot-9, 200-pounder from Monclavia, Ohio, and Hatch, a 6-6, 214-pounder from Ft. Wayne, Ind., are rated as three-star prospects by rivals.com.
