Caught up with Jarrett yesterday. He did not participate in Nike's SPARQ training last year due to an illness that held him out of action until mid-season. Jarrett says says the issues are behind him (had a serious infection).
He says his 40 time is in the 4.8 range and knows he will be recuited as a DE even though he will continue to play MLB for Colerain.

The Cincinnati Enquirer is reporting that Grace has become the first of Colerain's talented class of 2011 to receive a scholarship offer.

The University of Cincinnati has given him an offer.

Grace has also put on weight and is now listed at 6-4 230lbs.

edit:
I confirmed the offer with head coach Tom Bolden last night. http://wearecolerain.blogspot.com/

I watched the game and in my honest opinion, I didn't see anything from him other than his size that would warrant an Ohio State offer. Elder is a spread team so that probably didn't help him, he looks like he would be much better against a power running team, but we don't see many of those in college football anymore. He looked slow on the field to me, if I had to guess I'd say 4.8 or 4.9 40 time. Granted I didn't watch him on every play, but I watched him a lot and I think he maybe had one or two assisted tackles. I can't remember him being the first person to the ball once and he usually wasn't even around the ball. I don't know, maybe it was just Elder's offensive scheme, but I didn't see the speed, nose for the ball or just natural instincts necissary to play at Ohio State.

he's a 4.8 guy, so you're right on about that...what you're missing is that he's 15 years old and is 6-4, 230lbs....he is likely going to be in the 6-5, 6-6 range and has the frame to add 45lbs...he knows his future in college is at DE.

That's exactly what I was wondering about him as I watched because as I mentioned before his size was the one thing that did stand out. I was hoping that maybe he'd be able to grow into a DE, because you can tell he isn't anywhere near good enough to play linebacker at a major college program. I'll be interested to see what he looks like playing DE next year, assuming he does put on some more weight.

I was a little under-whelmed as well with the hype he's been getting, starting with the first post in this thread. Maybe he just had a bad game, but he didn't stand out at all. Definitely has great size, though. I'm eager to see his complete junior film.

I did like Duraham quite a bit. Could make a nice fullback, possibly the role that Carlos Hyde would have played...

Interesting since Durham is being recruited as a LB/DE and may move there full time next season.
I'm sorry you were under-whelmed. I would have thought you'd remember what Grace meant to the Colerain rush defense last year when he played his first game back from his heart ailment agaist Lakota West and personally shut down the West offense.
Again, I'm a Colerain homer and I hope I am not over rating this kid's talent. I don't think I am, however.

Whoa man, don't take it personally.

I'm not saying he's overrated...I'm saying I didn't think he had a great game. Maybe I'm just an idiot since the guy I was most impressed with isn't even being recruited at the position I liked him at. I dunno. Grace already has a few offers, right? So obviously someone thinks he can play. I'm sure he'll have better games and, like I said, I'm eager to see more film from this season (or last season).

BTW, I didn't see the West/Colerain game last year, so I can't speak on that. But I'll take your word for it.

I will admit, based on that game, Grace was less than impressive. But like others have said, I haven't seen this kid much so I can only speak on that game and he pretty much blended into everyone else. Hopefully we'll get to see some more of him though.

Grace picked up an Indiana offer this week and a Notre Dame coach was on the sidelines of Colerain's game last night to scout him. No word on an ND offer but will keep this thread updated with news as I get it.
