An early look at the Fab 15 for 2010 -- dailypress.com

Justin Hunter, WR, Ocean Lakes High (Virginia Beach), 6-4, 185

His 4.5-second speed and leaping ability (second in high jump at last year's Group AAA state outdoor track and field meet) have drawn offers from at least half the ACC, including U.Va. and Tech, plus Georgia, LSU and others.

Rivals lists an OSU offer, FWIW...

He really shows the ability to go up and get the ball at its highest point, and at 6'4'' and with his leaping ability there aren't going to be many guys that can go up and get it with him...

Not real sure on the speed being listed at 4.5...He seems to have guys run stride for stride with him at times, but his ability to go up and get the ball is what sets him apart...

From the Florida site...his coach talks about how Justin trys to block field goals...his coach compares him to Larry Fitzgerald in the air and says he has great lateral movement...article says he has offers from Boston College, Clemson, North Carolina, NC State, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee, Virginia and Virginia Tech.

I think the Florida writer was just going off the Rivals database, which we know is inaccurate...

Tigers still on top
LSU still is in the driver's seat for receiver Justin Hunter (Virginia Beach/Ocean Lakes), the Under Armour All-American confirmed earlier this week. The 6-4, 172-pounder is being recruited by D.J. McCarthy, one of the top recruiters in the Southeastern Conference and it would not be surprising to see him commit on his next unofficial visit to Baton Rouge should the Tigers' momentum continue here.

LSU Football Recruiting 2010 - ESPN

One of the nation's best, receiver Justin Hunter picks LSU Tigers

ESPNU 150 Watch List wideout Justin Hunter has pledged to head coach Les Miles for the Tigers' recruiting Class of 2010. LSU now has nine commitments.

The 6-foot-4, 175-pound prospect also considered such powers as Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, Ohio State, Penn State, Virginia Tech and North Carolina. Among many other offers were North Carolina State, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Boston College, Clemson and Kentucky.

ESPN's Tom Luginbill said of the news, "A big play receiver is a priority for LSU in this class and they certainly got one in Justin Hunter, especially on the deep ball where he can use his frame, size and athleticism to make the tough spectacular grabs downfield."

As we have mentioned, he is reminiscent of A.J. Green from the 2008 class as a playmaker. We are not sure he is quite as fast as Green, but his measurables and penchant for making huge plays downfield in contested match-ups is as good as anyone in this class."

Hunter posted 34 receptions for 536 yards (15.8 average) and 10 touchdowns during his junior campaign. He added three scores on the ground and also returned three punts for touchdowns.

By Farrell...decommitted from LSU...his coach thinks he is looking hard at Tennessee. Virginia is also trying for a visit.

No idea why OSU wouldn't throw their hat in the ring here...unlike Prater, Hunter had an OSU offer before committing elsewhere.

Under Armour All-American Justin Hunter now considering Tennessee

High four-star wide receiver Justin Hunter (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) has decommitted from the Tigers and has LSU along with Tennessee as his finalists, ESPN affiliate Web site BayouBengalsInsider.com reports.

Hunter stated via text message that he has not eliminated LSU but wants to consider Tennessee since the hiring of new head coach Derek Dooley.

The ESPNU 150 prospect has made official visits to both schools and will not take any additional official visits.

He's collected scholarship offers from Florida, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Penn State, Ohio State, Virginia, Boston College, Clemson, Georgia, West Virginia, South Carolina, N.C. State, Alabama and Nebraska.

It'd be a complete waste of time. He'll be singing Rocky Top very soon.

My point being what's the harm...especially if JT is already going to be in Virginia meeting with Morgan Moses? He flew down to Florida to see Chaz Green who despite being uncommitted I've never thought OSU had any chance of landing...

Perhaps they feel stronger on Chaz Green than most recruitniks believe? I have no clue on the specifics of his recruitment, but it doesn't appear that they ever stopped recruiting Chaz Green. I'm not sure if the recruitment of Justin Hunter ever left the "feeling out" phase.

Anyway, Hunter didn't decommit from LSU without another school in mind. UT guys feel that he may commit as soon as tonight, as he's being visited by Dooley.

Edit: There's also the possibility that the staff is continuing to recruit Chaz Green to build a relationship with the school. Tampa Catholic puts out talent every year.
