Cedar Grove junior Xavier Avery is coming out of spring practice as one of the most gifted and sought-after athletes in the state. Already with football offers on the table from Georgia, Ohio State, LSU, Georgia Tech and Florida, among others, he's also one of the leading home-run hitters and run producers in DeKalb County. Football coach Ray Bonner says that, if Avery doesn't go high in the draft, he wants to go to a college that will let him play both baseball and football.

Georgia has grabbed its second two-sport star in as many recruiting classes.

Xavier Avery, a football/baseball standout from DeKalb County's Cedar Grove High, committed to Georgia over the weekend.
