From Rivals100.com...Charles broke Len Dawson's school record for TD passes in a season last year with 19. He also plays basketball and is a high jumper. He has a rough childhood, with his mother dying when he was young, but he says he is not going to let a rough childhood ever hold him back. He talks a lot about how tough it is growing up in Alliance and overcoming the hurdles he has had to deal with. Crabtree calls him one of the best QB's in the Midwest in the class of '07.

This is a kid to get behind, no matter where he ends up...

Alliance at Carrollton

SITE Community Field, 7:30 p.m.

RECORDS Alliance 4-3, 2-2; Carrollton 5-2, 3-1.

LAST WEEK West Branch 17, Alliance 14; Carrollton 28, Marlington 13.

LAST MEETING First meeting.
WHAT TO WATCH The Warriors started the season slowly but have rebounded to win three straight, with a chance to defend their NBC title. Carrollton trails Louisville by one game and has a Week 9 showdown with the Leopards. Standing between Carrollton and that opportunity is a young Alliance team that continues to improve every week. The Aviators, who start just two seniors, are dangerous if this offense can get rolling. QB Charles Babb and WR Troy Pascley have become one of the county’s top combinations, with 23 connections for 631 yards and eight TDs. Jeff White is growing into the feature back role, averaging 5.6 yards per carry. The Warriors are making an effort to run the ball more each week, though with not as much success as head coach Barry Goettemoeller would like. Carrollton ran 35 times for 87 yards last week, a 2.5 average. Even just as a change of pace, Carrollton needs a running game to loosen up defenses against its four-receiver spread offense.

Good job Wadc.....I was contemplating putting him up on the board prior to today.....this is the type of kid you can root for.

I totally agree...reading the interview by Crabtree was really eye-opening.

Duane Long in a previous issue of Ohio High said if there is one QB who can overcome his size, it's Charles. Ohio High has him as the early #1 QB in Ohio in the class of '07.

All I have to say is Sutton, I know he is short like Sutton and people said that he couldn't play and look at him now. I have seen Bab play, he is really good, and think that he has the skills to pay the bills if you know what i mean.

Babb is also not against playing on either side of the ball. He is one kid in the '07 class that I am hoping gets an offer. Rivals lists him with a 3.7 GPA, which if true means he shouldn't have a problem getting through OSU's admissions.
