Bolingbrook (IL)
Height: 5-foot-11
Weight: 190 pounds

2006 - High School Football:
One of the top running back prospects in the Midwest and the nation. Martin will be a three-year starter in 2006. Eight schools offered Martin a scholarship before he played a down of football his junior year. Simply carried Bolingbrook on his shoulders the past two seasons. Super quick running back that runs with tremendous pad level. Has the extra gear to take it the distance from anywhere on the field. Gets the corner and accelarates as well as any running back I've seen in 10 years.

This was one of the first top players i've been able to watch seeing as to how Illinois has very few of them. The coach is a very good friend of mine, and has informed me LSU has offered so I thought i'd take a look. I left very impressed, I'm not sure how much (if any) interest OSU is showing, but any junior already getting pressed hard by LSU has a good chance of getting attention later. If anyhting does come from this i'll be sure to have the coach ask him some questions.

Last Friday:
Dale Martin (18 carries, 157 yards). Martin's 50-yard TD run with 8:06 left in the third gave the Raiders a 20-14 lead.

With the stud Jr. RBs in Ohio next year, Dale might get some attention, but he will have to be very special to become a prime target.

Very true, plus with Bradley Stephens as a strong possibility that makes it even less likely that he'll become one of their top interest. I doubt he does, but with his talent I won't rule it out, I just enjoyed the game a lot and decided it was worthy of practicing my starting a thread skills on.

Nebraska, Illinois, Purdue and West Virginia along with several other schools have offered.

Here is what scout.com says about Martin....

From the ND site...Nebraska, West Virginia, Minnesota, Illinois and Northwestern have offered and his coach thinks Iowa and OSU may be close to offering too. Charlie has told him he thinks Dale is one of the best in the B10 region next year and compared him to James Aldridge.

The ND people are getting out of control with their slanting...

By Chris Pool...Dale rushed for 1,100 yards and 11 TDs in '05 and 750 yards and 10 TDs in '04. He says he has eight verbal offers at this point...Illinois, Northwestern, Toledo, West Virginia, Ohio State, Nebraska, New Mexico and Minnesota. He also likes Texas, Florida, ND, Iowa and Tennessee.

Changing the thread title to reflect the offer...

Rivals.com has posted video of Martin in action.

Observations:

This film is ground level, so it gives you a different perspective. Martin shows good hands while handling a bad pitch, once again changes direction well and is able to make the first person miss and run out of arm tackles. Compared to the Scout film, this one is an improvement.
