That's why his feet are staggered. A lot of edge guys line up like that because your read (first) step puts you in a perfect position to transition to a pass rush or holding your ground/gap against the run.
Three point stance allows for a better base no doubt (fact), but a staggered 2 point...
This, slow processing of the defense will make a lot of throws look inaccurate. He's not exactly a sniper either but the culprit is his inability to dissect the defense at a an elite speed.
Something I thought about today: There's a lot of Michigan fans in comment sections across the internets talking about how this year's title is BS because OSU needed a 12 team playoff to win it.
Thought that point was incredibly ironic, given that their 97 "title" would be non-existent in any...
I will say, I do think (or maybe hope) that Day learned his lesson with the Coombs situation, promoting guys within (or hiring your buddies) because they're "your guys" made Meyers tenure much less successful than it should have been.
Other than Coombs, Day's coordinator hires have been largely...
McCord's absolute void of mobility, along with his inability (or unwillingness possibly) to pull the trigger on open routes down field were ultimately the differences to me. Too safe, and too many points left of the field.
Will doesn't have a particularly strong arm by any means but he was...
Kinda how I see it, we never saw this year's O without JS but there were enough playmakers where I think they still could've put points up.
Lose Clarett for a few games and the 02 offense looked damn near incompetent.

Seemed like he was forcing himself...
I think it kinda cuts both ways. He's obviously a bit too physical, but show me a good corner and I'll show you a guys who's physical with his opponent. Needs to get better at getting away with it more than anything. Would definitely like to see the CBs next year turn their heads more.
Really happy to see JL be part of a title team. Few players deserved one as much as he did (and he and his classmates were damn close). Obviously not quite the same, but cool to see regardless.
