I have a hard time believing CS would go out on his own and advance scout all these programs knowing it would jeopardize the school he loves. I just have to believe he got the go-ahead from someone.

Isn't the problem, the programs aren't the ones paying? The school/program rakes in millions of dollars annually and doesn't have to spend a dime on player "salary". It's a crazy situation where the people making all the revenue don't have to pay the employees.
