This is the biggest physicality difference I've ever witnessed in The Game. That entire game, we were thumping them. We had so many hard hits. This was not even the only kickoff return McGuffie had where he got rocked.
How many guys have we seen get their careers detailed by injuries? This sport can be unfair. Some of these guys are looking are an amount of money that can change their lives. It's an enormous risk to take. I won't begrudge any athlete who is unwilling to accept the risk.
When I hear Ryan Day talk, I hear a man who knows who he is. He's not trying to be something he's not anymore. He wants to win, and he's doesn't care if it's sexy. Watching him evolve over the last 7 years has been a pleasure.
Did no one else notice he complained about the assault on his senses while open up perhaps the loudest piece of paper ever to be crinkled? I hope he was doing that on purpose.
Even if Kelly told Day he wanted to finish his career at Ohio State, the Raiders have him an offer so big he couldn't refuse.
I could see the same thing happen to Patricia. However, he seems happy right now, and I hope we can hang into him for a few years.
In one of the off-season interviews he did, he mentioned getting a sense of what to look for when hiring people. I think you saw that today. The defense looked spectacular, and the pass protection was excellent. Certainly some things to work on, but Day is really starting to check a lot of boxes...
Agreed, but the going rate is the going rate for talent. We can't be offering half what other schools are offering and expect to win recruiting battles.
