You guys are overthinking it. If I was a rich booster there and had to watch the garbage that is their offensive talent this season, I'd also be moved to drop bags to help.
It seems like we can get formation'd into a position where we're REALLY light in the box defensively on downs and distances where it isn't unusual to run. It kept happening against Oregon, and it happened a few times against Penn State. I noticed it on seemingly every Warren run.
We left at least 3 TDs on the table today with the missed deep balls and goal line fumbles. If this team ever gets its crap together, we could be good.
The college football ecosystem is a soap opera and nowhere moreso than recruiting. If you're looking for rationality here, there is none to be found! It's just layers of goofy down to and including the foundation.
