When Trey got healthy in the back half of the season last year, he was clearly -- crystal, even—the best back on the team. I’m not sure where the idea that Dallan was the best back came from. But the coaches didn’t see it either, apparently.
I mean, pass blocking is crucial for a RB. If you can’t pass block, the defense will know that it’s a run play when he’s in OR just attack him on passing downs. It’s exactly like having a tight end who can’t block.
Ohio State really only had a rotation in 2018. And measuring catches is probably not the best way to gauge the rotation. In 2014, Evan Spencer only had 15 catches in 15 games. He played a good amount of in game minutes. Also, 5 WR’s with at least 20 catches had only been done like twice in the...
“Supposed lack of blocking”
You can literally see it. It’s not a fake thing. Even in the practice videos from this past weekend he’s whiffing and getting tossed around.
I agree that all 5 won’t play. But I do believe the schedule sets up in a way that all 5 COULD play. And probably should, considering the wide open competition next year.
I think you’re underestimating what goes into a QB calling signals. Why do you think so many teams look to the sideline before the play? The majority of QB’s aren’t making calls at the LOS. I’m not sure why you expected a true freshman, who expected to redshirt, to suddenly be good at it.
Not really. The staff at OSU, indirectly, showed him the door. They even stopped taking his calls. They obviously wanted new blood in the room, which is totally fine, but they kind of ghosted him without explanation and with it being his last year he wasn’t going to risk getting lost in the...
Isn’t there an opening in the recruiting department under Pantoni? Mark Votteler left to be the personnel guy at Miss. State.
I could see them sliding Corey there.
You didn’t watch any “loyalty” thing play out with Kyle. He was the best option last season but then wasn’t guaranteed to start next year so he left. That narrative is tired.
This is something totally different and could kill depth in the future. But I get it, everybody is in “win now” mode.
