2024 tOSU Spring Practices and Game (April 13)

This was the first, but won't be the last, that I listened to the audio.

QB Lincoln "Dakota" Kienholz (Official Thread)

I don't think Air has to be factored into this calculus yet. If I'm his dad, I'm saying, hold what you've got for now, soak it all in, and help them develop you and we can recalculate later. The portal, if necessary, is his friend when/if that time comes IF he's gotten as much out of his time...

    2024 tOSU Defense Discussion

I think there's more talent across the board now, but we've also had talented guys before and almost criminally failed to develop and coach them. Knowles & Co. are GETTING IT DONE. I LOVE seeing younger guys come in and ball and it's also good for recruiting. That doesn't happen unless...

HC Ryan Day (2019 B1G Media COY)

I think many of us wondered, and it's still a fair question, whether being a CEO head coach would be too big for him; whether he could and/or would do it. How he handled this game with all of the Fox programming/involvement was only one data point as to the answer, but it certainly looked...

2024 tOSU Spring Practices and Game (April 13)

Agreed. I thought Day did a great job of it. He came across as knowledgeable and authentic and not the wound-up reactionary guy we saw a lot of last year. Watching and not knowing otherwise, you wouldn’t have been able to tell the heat he’s going to get if the 2024 campaign doesn’t go to...

2024 tOSU Spring Practices and Game (April 13)

I'd have to go back and watch his end zone throws again, but my thought at the time was that they were all catchable, none were way off target, and the incompletions were more about DB play rather than Howard.

2024 tOSU Spring Practices and Game (April 13)

Several of his and at least a couple from Judkins go for six if not for THUD. I’m loving this backfield.

QB Julian "Just" Sayin (Official Thread)

And as Day alluded, the game isn’t too big for him. I thought he looked ridiculously comfortable for a freshman.

    QB Will Howard (Official Thread)

Howard looked like a starting qb to me. Sure, he’s still learning this offense, but he looked like someone who’d done it before. Brown looks to me like he’s trying to play the part of a QB1. He may get there, but that’s the difference to me right now.

2024 tOSU Spring Practices and Game (April 13)

Most important question post-spring game: where can I get the pullover the coaches were wearing?

2024 tOSU Spring Practices and Game (April 13)

Absolutely. Not fair or necessary to rush him. They come here for the development. He could go to a mid-tier one school and start, but who cares?

    RB T.C. Caffey (Official Thread)

Agree. He’ll get a fair shake that he might not elsewhere.
  13. RugbyBuck

QB Julian "Just" Sayin (Official Thread)

Agree entirely. There's, hopefully, no urgency to push him, but I'm glad that he's getting an opportunity to be in the mix.

QB Julian "Just" Sayin (Official Thread)

Going in we figured Sayin and Noland would have their own competition going at the back of the line, but it seems clear that it's now Sayin and Lincoln with Howard and Brown above them and he's banging on the door to be in that grouping.

QB Julian "Just" Sayin (Official Thread)

Agree and I would add that a few missteps and/or injuries ahead of him and he could be the guy toward the end of the year. That's not ideal, and I hope we're not in that spot, but at some point ability, processing speed, and upside override game experience and B/B- play.

QB Julian "Just" Sayin (Official Thread)

Um… wadc45, you’ve got some esplainin’ to do! The pass in the clip. Fucking hell. When he fills out a little, he’s going to be dangerous.

    RB T.C. Caffey (Official Thread)

My comment above was, of course, pre-Dallan leaving. Yeah, if I’m TC now, I stay and prove that I’m not a soft batch cookie and make us play him.

RB Dallan Hayden (transfer to ???)

Sure, no argument that he didn’t benefit from us bringing Judkins in, but it also gives him a way to respond and be someone else’s Judkins. That’s all I’m saying. He would’ve been stuck or have to transfer and sit otherwise.

RB Dallan Hayden (transfer to ???)

Exactly the type of case that makes the portal make sense. He's worked hard and could be a starter at decent schools. Best of luck.

    RB T.C. Caffey (Official Thread)

His best play to me is to keep working hard and get as many minutes as he can, finish his degree, and go into the portal as a grad transfer. I get, of course, wanting to be a Buckeye, but he's already that and you can't take away a degree. I imagine that he also wants to be a starter or major...
