Anybody catch what Akron's coach said to Fickell as he was shaking his hand? All I caught was "I don't think that <inaudible> but good luck to you the rest of the year." Then Fickell kind of gave him a funny look as he ran away.
Did Kirk just say "If somehow Ohio State happens to beat LSU..."
Jesus Kirk........
USC's ridiculous celebrations, overall thuggery, and the way these media guys are all over their nuts is quickly making them my least favorite team in the nation aside from Michigan.
BuckeyeXtra - The Columbus Dispatch : Commentary: Buckeyes don't stand a chance against SEC
Commentary in the Dispatch from some yokel from the Knoxville News Sentinel. Pretty good stuff.
So any chance the media proclaims Texas the "hottest team in the nation" and sings their praises for the next month if they close out this win. It would only be fair since they did the same for USC when they beat this weak ASU team.
For some odd reason, and because this is ESPN, and seeing their USC lovefest from a couple years ago, I have this sick feeling that we haven't seen the last of Matt Leinart.
In the eyes of the media, Ohio State and other Big Ten teams squeak out "lucky wins" when they play in overtime.
But SEC teams show strength and adversity by going into tough, hostile environments and battling for four hours with the greatest teams in the nation.
Give me a break!
Fans have been working the refs on those pass interference calls the whole game. They were even working on that last deep ball. Too bad the refs are starting to listen.
