After denying that Jonas Mouton punched a Notre Dame player - and inadvertently giving rise to the Big Ten's policy of handing down suspensions - Rodriguez goes the denial route again:

Note that the list of favorites in the article is not a direct quote. This is an Allen Wallace trademark; Wallace always lists who he suspects leads rather than who actually does. I generally disregard any list of leaders/favorites in a Wallace article.

With Rolle's commitment and the news on Wright, Thompson, and Scott, I thought people might be interested in this:

Top 100 Senior...
I couldn't find the numbers broken down by player, which is what we're really looking for, but here are the team stats:
2005 OSU - 30 fumbles, 16 lost
2004 Texas - 23 fumbles, 7 lost
Herbstreit's preseason top 5
On ESPN a half hour ago:
1 - ND
2 - USC
3 - Texas
4 - OSU

Ragone has the Bucks in his latest top 5.
He's on the Rivals pre-evaluation top 100 list.
I cannot root for scUM under any circumstances.
Whatever tertiary benefits might redound to OSU by virtue of a Big Ten OOC victory can't possibly outweigh the displeasure of seeing Llloyd with that creepy smile on his face.
It looks like Martin already has an offer.

Last week, Oregon was ranked 8 and their only win over a ranked team was a 3-point win over No. 22 Fresno in Eugene.
Last week, Notre Dame was ranked 7 and their only win over a ranked team was a 7-point win over No. 21 scUM in Ann Arbor.
This week, Oregon is ranked 5 with no wins over ranked...
Oregon jumps all the way to no. 5. Looks like strategic voting by the Pac-10 coaches.
Looks like they're hoping Oregon will sneak ahead of OSU and get the no. 4 auto-bid.
If FSU wins, both of the at-large bids will be automatic:
- The Bucks get in automatically for being top 4 in the BCS.
- Notre Dame will get in automatically under the "Utah rule" for being a non-BCS conference team in the top 6 in the BCS.
Enjoy the Holiday Bowl, Oregon.
