Thanks guys for the info . It's always nice to see the team improving and growing . Looking forward to another season of Buckeyes
dominance on the mats!
Back in early September Calibuck asked for news on Marcus Blaze's recruiting. Rumors on the internet are that his decision
will be announced by next week. Like RB07OSU stated a few comments above, looking like PSU or OSU. May be clutching at straws here,
but Blaze was visited earlier this week...
Read a report on another site that 3 big time wrestlers from the 2026 class recently visited Ohio State. Dom Munaretto from Illinois, the #1 rated U17 in his weight class from Illinois who comes from the same area as freshman Ben Davino and is a 113#er. Also visiting was Michael Mocco
from...
Two or the "new" Bucks competed at Fargo and did well. Maddox Shaw finished 3rd in the 150# class losing a tough, tight match
and Vince Bouzakis was on a roll to the semifinals before he had to default. Depth at the middleweight area is building.
Well some guy on FLO predicted a few weeks ago that Blaze would indeed pick the Nits. Of course he also predicted Bo Bassett to
OSU which I can't see at all. I think if Blaze's brother enters the portal Coach Ryan could grab him which would open the door for
both Blaze brothers to stay in...
Poster on another site says Coach Ryan was seen at a recent team workout. Still a long road to full recovery
but great news nonetheless. Go Bucks, and most importantly GO Coach!
Maddox Shaw, a 138 pounder from Pa. State champ and also Super 32 champ with senior year remaining. Ranked #14 overall. Still chasing Blaze, who is #5 overall.
Vince Bouzakis has committed to following his brother Nic and being a Buckeye! He is the #2 ranked 157 pounder just finishing his junior year. Now hopefully Marcus Blaze will be next to join the Buckeyes!
I think Kharch will make it back finally with a clean bill of health next year. It's been a long road for that dude, he should've got that knee fixed 3 years ago. Sasso I am more skeptical about after hearing him speak and watching him limping around the mat. I'd say about 40/60...
Two duals this weekend with Md. on Friday @ home and Wisc. Sunday afternoon @ Wisc.
Only Wilcox (157) and Geog (197) are facing higher seeds vs. Terps.
Against the Badgers the wrestlers vs. higher seeds are McCrone (125) Hepner (165) Welsh (174) and Shumate (184).
Go Bucks..we need these two...
Think I heard the announcer (Matt O'Hara, former wrestler) say Wilcox this season has wrestled 157#,165#,and 174# matches. Guy should be up for team MVP just for controlling his weight that well ! Not to mention he's very competitive every match. Every time I've seen Ed Ruth he's wrestled like...
Not sure we'll see Feldman. I know it's a gamble sending him on the mat with his knee problem, he probably shouldn't have wrestled last week
but his competitive spirit won out. It may be a late decision. Also a real shame to hear Paddy's done for another season. He's not the most
talented guy...
One of the best duals I've ever seen. I watched it with my wife who doesn't know the first thing about wrestling. When she saw Feldman get that double leg in the last 10 secs. to win his match and the dual she went nuts. I asked her who her favorite Buckeye was thinking it would be Feldman but...
Unbelievable opening with three straight falls against a highly ranked NCState. But the real hero was Rocco Welsh with a {literally} last second take down to win the match and the duel. Overall a darn good effort by the Bucks today. Only downer is the word that Kharchla's season sounds like...
Forgot that some of the freshmen + sophs wrestled Saturday at the Mich.St.Open. (freshman/sophomore division). Brock Herman took the title at 149# and Andre Gonzales took 2nd in the 133# division losing a tiebreaker to Michigan's Ragusin 7-6. Vinny Kilkeary took 3rd at 125# and
Gavin Brown...
