I put together the Offensive stats of the biggest games from 2016 for both Ohio State (left) and Indiana (right). Clearly, Indiana didn't have the stout running game or the same talent level, but it's also clear their passing game was more effective on average. I really look forward to adding...
I agree. Too many seasons where our WRs seemed completely ineffective, and that seems unacceptable given the talent on the roster. I see young WRs on other teams who seem to get open and make plays. Of course, JT not having time to throw didn't help matters...
ShowMeBuck, that's a good question. I'm sure we can field 10 guys, but it may not be pretty.
As for Dontre's size, I'm sure he'll be adding some weight in the off-season. Beyond that, he also needs to work on his blocking skills.
I do agree that Jalin could be exciting to watch, and I...
The depth at WR is definitely building up nicely, and this is the year I expect to see some of that young talent step up and be noticed. I agree with ShowMeBuck that the Spring game should be fun to watch this year. Not only for the WRs, but also for the OL and the Defense as a whole.
Just watched his HUDL film, and it's hard to believe I was watching a Freshman. I'm also struck by the fact that he only runs the ball once (for a TD). Just wow!
I don't have any suggestions for defensive staff candidates, but a part of me worries that the D staff isn't going anywhere but we could lose coaches like Herman, Warinner, or Drayton, and that worries me a bit. Don't get me wrong, I would wish them the best, but then Coach Meyer would have to...
I voted scheme/coaching mostly because I refuse to believe that a bunch of 3, 4, and 5-star recruits can't be coached up. As for the coaching, though, I'm not sure I can point to anyone specific. I suppose the secondary was a major letdown this year, so perhaps we can blame Withers and Coombs...
I'm just hoping the Defense will play another solid game against Indiana (unlike last year). Yes, it hurt to have Grant and Perry injured. To me, I'm still seeing poor tackling technique. Is it just me, or does Roby too often just lunge at a player without trying to wrap up? As for the young...
I agree Braxton will have a hard time surpassing other Heisman hopefuls if he can't stay healthy. Honestly, when he didn't play the rest of the SDSU game, it crossed my mind that trying to win the Heisman might take a back seat now that his total stats aren't likely to look so impressive...
The severity of these injuries aren't all the same, but it probably wouldn't be wise to force Adolphus back if he isn't at least close to 100%. Needing to rotate D Linemen against Cal, it would be tough without him, but there's no sense in potentially worsening the injury if he isn't ready...
To me, it's funny how much bigger Rod seems compared to the other backs. He does seem very effective, though, and I hope he keeps working hard and being a difference maker on the field. Overall, our depth at RB is proving to be quite good.
