Who will be tOSU's head coach on July 1, 2012? (betting closed)

cam newton was also a #1 pick but we all know that's a failure already ;).

Who will be tOSU's head coach on July 1, 2012? (betting closed)

they did it with defense, not offense. and that defense would've been there with urban meyer or without. the D coordinator from those years later went on to the NFL. we're seeing the future already in the SEC. the future being that only saban can deal with a well coached pro style offense...

Who will be tOSU's head coach on July 1, 2012? (betting closed)

urban meyer is a slightly more polished rich rodriguez. a gimmick without a tebow is just a gimmick. if you wanna continue to be the northern pipeline to the pros (tm), you gotta keep a pro style offense in place.

Jim Tressel (National Champion, ex-President, Youngstown State University, CFB HOF)

condolences from down south in Arkansas. tressel always seemed like a class act amongst generally dishonest people in a generally dishonest business to me. btw don't bother with bobby petrino, the buyout is too high ;).

    2011 TSUN news

no matter how it pans out, LSU is still a winner and UM is still a loser. the rest is just the dollars involved, really.

    2011 TSUN news

i'm not sure les could beat more money out of LSU. there was a push to fire him last year amongst the alumni, but the buyout was so high prior to the 2010 season that the state board of education shot it down. the recession coupled with the BP oil spill has hurt the state's finances quite a...

Les's agent is in dallas, that meeting was reported a couple of days ago as well when the UM jet showed up for the cotton bowl. best of hogville.net so far...

there's a UM private jet in baton rouge right now... http://flightaware.com/photos/view/347803-0c8f967d582d86a4943a15d9693e5c25d6d3c16c/aircraft/N929SR/sort/votes/page/1 looks to be the second trip for this jet down that way in two days, heard from a family member, making the news rounds in...

    Congrats from Ark fans

we have no worries at QB next year. mallett went down in the auburn game and our QB of the future threw for 350 and 4 TDs in the second half of that game. he did throw a late over-the-middle pick toward the end of the game, but that sort of inexperience is to be expected at his age. he had us...

Will Big 10 vs SEC vs Pac 10 Debate Still Continue?

there's a great book i've been reading called "of bowls and tattered souls" that kind of recounts the history of bowls and heismans since the BCS was introduced, it's a pretty good read. i agree with the author in that eventually the TV pressure for a playoff will cause the traditionalists in...

    Congrats from Ark fans

the biggest thing i see with davis is very wise beyond his years with patience in waiting for the holes to open. he's able to wait for the O line and FB to get up on the LBs before choosing a spot to get into the second level, but then he bursts very quickly once the decision is made. a lot of...

Some BCS facts for your SEC friends

iowa's first ranked competition this year gave them a loss. they wind up losing three straight including northwestern and minnesota. they lost to northwestern at home last year, and struggled to beat arkansas...state (which is our equivalent of miami....ohio). in the year before that they...

    Congrats from Ark fans

we still don't know what got into knile davis. this was his first year as a starter, and in the cupcake games this year he was tentative, scared of contact, and indecisive. all of a sudden around mid season he starts trucking opposing linebackers and safeties like they're not even there, and...

Some BCS facts for your SEC friends

true, i suppose. miss state will never be a contender. but georgia and tn should return to their former selves, it'll just take a couple of years. LSU is different from PSU in that one is over achieving when they win that game and the other is under achieving. LSU has the players, a ton of...

Will Big 10 vs SEC vs Pac 10 Debate Still Continue?

and i won't completely shun the blame, since the SEC brass were the ones who came up with the BCS. the bottom line is college football, despite how much i love it, is a sham for 80% of the participating programs. not for the boises and TCUs, but for the miss states, and the georgias, and the...

Some BCS facts for your SEC friends

i think that truth is that there are more mid tier SEC teams on the rise, and more mid tier big 10 teams in decline. the difference between LSU/Alabama/OSU/etc isn't that much. arkansas, miss state, and USCe were improved this year. that accounts for the recent decline of georgia/tennesee...

Will Big 10 vs SEC vs Pac 10 Debate Still Continue?

that's easy to say when you're one of the favored programs. when you're not, people appease their little man syndrome with conference affiliation. out of the slightly >100 D1 programs, about 10 have a chance of ever attending that national title game. virtually all of the TV time is divided...

not bad at all. there were disturbingly bad calls both ways. the call on DJ's great TD in the first half was equally silly, as was the play where OSU seemed to assume that a review was coming, pryor left the center without the ball, and no false start was called. i think we would all...

    Congrats from Ark fans

well, i am happy with one of those. malcolm jenkins will be a pro bowl player on sundays for my saints, i think, given another year or two. i expect them to let darren sharper go after this season, jenkins is ready to play every down at safety for the saints, he showed that this year. keep...
