Really? It's literally the one position I've worried about all year.
We've only signed 4 total corners in the last 3 classes.
We're already thin. I'd much rather be gaining depth there than losing it or staying even.
Don't get me wrong ... I have full confidence that coaches will figure...
Absolutely .... DL and QB are the positions the modern game is played with at the elite level. And in that aspect, Ohio State lands their targets on a consistent basis.
On the DL, they tend to grab the highest rated player at their position. It's been a pretty impressive run honestly, and...
Ohio State has nearly twice as many Top 100 recruits on their current roster than Clemson, and is the closest team to Alabama depth wise.
Recruiting isn't the issue ... it's losing to bad teams badly that is keeping them from their end goal.
Zeke didn't take his official visit until December .... must have been a Plan Y guy. Can't really go by OV dates to make an assumption on who the coaches are high on, and what prospects are high on Ohio State.
Still a lot of time until LOI and there are going to be plenty of movement in the...
Will be interesting to see where Ohio State goes from here. There's actually still a couple of really good backs left even in Texas this year.
No doubt we end with a couple of good backs in this class, just might have to wait a little longer to hear a commitment.
Wonder if we still heavily...
Based on his comments, it's going to be a tough sell to get him to flip.
We had all the momentum coming out of his visit and the Rivals camp, but when the dust settled he claimed God helped him resist the pressure of going to Ohio State.
Doesn't sound like a very flippable commit, honestly...
Runs through holes with explosiveness and has a long stride which often makes them harder to tackle
Long strider too, which tend to be harder to tackle from behind.
I truly believe Ohio State was still in the ears of other exceptional backs. It's not like Knighton was a 100% lock even when the crystal balls leaned towards Ohio State. I just can't fathom a scenario where the coaching staff shut down recruitment at RB because they were sure that Knighton...
Absolutely. That was sort of my point in the beginning. I would hope that the staff kept recruiting him and telling him that they would love to have him and not pay attention to what the internet is saying about who is and isn't going where.
If they made it clear that they were going in a...
I don't know why you are being so snarky. If you felt my tone in this thread was is the same manner to which you replied, I apologize. I assure you that wasn't my intent.
The Tweet he made on 6/23 lists his Top 5, Ohio State being one of them and no commitment date in sight. That scenario...
To be fair, the scenario you described wasn't very specific. I have no idea what happened on 6/23 that would suggest we shut down his recruitment.
Definitely would like to know.
One would hope the coaching staff has kept an open line of communication with him regardless and has the potential to push.
If Day's recruiting staff philosophy is "pick our guy and forget the rest", we have a lot of future disappointment headed or way unless they change that philosophy...
We shall see. At the end of the day, you want guys who are all in. If Robinson doesn't think Ohio State is the place for him, then it's clearly not.
As Jax said, Next. Won't be the first hit or miss ... won't be the last. Ohio State will keep chugging.
To me, Bijan comments and those of his family can only mean one of two things.
A) Bijan was never an Ohio State lock as all the experts claimed.
B) Distance was never the deciding reason on his final decision, if he has in fact made that decision already.
Either way, it makes insider...
Maybe. But all roads were pointing to Ohio State before and after he set his commitment date.
To be a supposed silent verbal through dead period, and not even be an option coming out of it would still be incredibly odd, even if distance became a sudden concern.
That's making a lot of...
Yeah, he has special written all over him with his combination of power and speed. Don't get me wrong, Robinson is special too ... just for different reasons.
I would gladly take either, even today. Truth is that this years class is an embarrassment of riches when it comes to RBs. It's...
The only logical explanation is that he never really gave a silent verbal to Ohio State and either a supposed coach source was lying, or insiders made that call assuming they would be proven to be right anyways.
Bijan claims he hasn't talked to anyone. Which means a lot of the supposed...
