I took Taylor’s class on coaching basketball. The guy was a genius at breaking skills down to specific points, and always showing you how to keep it simple.
The Athletic published a ranking of 2026 quarterbacks. Tier 1 listed Sayin at #5, 2 spots ahead of the burnt orange publicity machine. And then there's:
Tier 4

Bryce Underwood
School:
Michigan
Conference:
Big Ten
Status:
Returning starter
There was a ton of hype surrounding Underwood...
I was assigned to Moeller for 20 years. Non-Catholic public school guy, I would get nauseous every football season when the ND talk would hit its peak. The school was seen as a combination of Harvard, Oxford, and the Holy Ghost. Irish football was the holy grail and the shroud of Turin all...
You haven't taught at a Catholic high school, have you? Also, large parts of NYC, Boston, Philly, and Chicago are full of ND "subway alums." Something like Walmart Michigan fans, but far greater in number. And they all own TV sets.
Is it possible that a coach was able to break through Underwood's ego and convince him he had a great deal of work to do between his spring game shit show and the kickoff of the 26-27 season? Marshall is a solid running back. They have at least one decent receiver. The middle of the BIG sucks...
I remember when Oldsmobile picked up the tab to send Sparty’s band to the Rose Biwl. But that was in the 1950s and the Midwest was an industrial powerhouse. Much of what made the Midwest so powerful is now located in Dixie.
